For Patients

We’ve designed every part of this test to be as simple as possible — because your health shouldn’t require a medical degree to manage.

Are You at Risk?

Liver Cancer Risk Factors

You may benefit from regular liver cancer screening if you have one or more of these conditions.

Hepatitis B or C

Chronic viral hepatitis is the leading cause of liver cancer globally. If you’ve been diagnosed with hepatitis B or C, regular screening is strongly recommended by the ACS and AASLD.

Alcohol-Related Liver Disease

Long-term heavy alcohol use can lead to cirrhosis, which significantly raises the risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma even after stopping drinking.

Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver (NAFLD)

One of the fastest-growing risk factors in the US. NAFLD and NASH can progress to cirrhosis and liver cancer — especially combined with Type 2 diabetes or obesity.

Cirrhosis (Any Cause)

Regardless of cause, cirrhosis significantly elevates liver cancer risk. Guidelines recommend HCC surveillance every 6 months for all cirrhosis patients.

Family History

If a first-degree relative (parent, sibling, child) has had liver cancer, your risk is meaningfully elevated. Consider early and regular screening.

Diabetes & Metabolic Syndrome

Type 2 diabetes and metabolic syndrome are independent risk factors for HCC. Combined with any liver condition, the risk increases substantially.

The Experience

What to Expect on Test Day

Before Your Appointment

You’ll receive a confirmation email with prep instructions. No fasting required in most cases. A certified phlebotomist will call 30 minutes before arrival.

The Home Visit

Your phlebotomist typically arrives in a 2-hour window you selected. The blood draw takes 5–10 minutes. It’s a standard venipuncture — the same as a routine blood test at any clinic.

Your Sample

The sample is sealed and transported to our CLIA-certified laboratory via temperature-controlled courier within hours of collection — maintaining integrity for the most accurate results.

Your Results

Within 24 hours, you’ll receive a secure notification with your full digital report. If your results require attention, a care coordinator will contact you directly — no waiting alone.

FAQ

You may benefit from regular liver cancer screening if you have one or more of these conditions.

Go to moleculedx.com, choose your test, enter your basic details (name, date of birth, address, email, phone), choose self-test or doctor-referred, select lab visit or home sample collection, complete the payment, and you’ll receive an instant booking confirmation.

Not always. You can book most Moleculedx panels as a self-test. For tests that require medical authorization, you can either choose a doctor from our network or add your own physician’s name and hospital details during booking.

You can choose between (a) visiting a partner phlebotomy centre near you or (b) home sample collection. With home collection, our partners — PortaMedic and Travalab — send trained professionals to your home, collect the sample, and transport it to a Moleculedx lab. Home collection has a small additional charge.

A trained phlebotomist arrives at your address within the booked window, verifies your identity and booking, collects the required sample (typically blood, saliva or urine), labels it under chain-of-custody, and transports it directly to a Moleculedx lab. The visit usually takes 15 to 20 minutes.

Most Moleculedx tests do not require special preparation. Where fasting or other prep is needed (for example for certain blood-based panels), you’ll receive clear instructions by email and SMS at the time of booking and again the day before your appointment.

Most reports are delivered within 5 to 10 working days from the date the lab receives your sample. Specific turnaround times for each test are shown on the test page and on your booking confirmation.

Your final report is sent securely to your registered email and is also available in your Moleculedx patient portal. From the portal you can download the report, view your booking history, and share the report with your doctor.

Log in to your patient portal at moleculedx.com using your registered email, and you can re-download the booking confirmation and the final report at any time. You can also contact support@moleculedx.com for help.

Yes. Bookings can be rescheduled or cancelled from the patient portal up to a defined cut-off before the scheduled collection slot. Cancellation policies and any applicable refund are shown at the time of booking.
